Dance Birds

Bharatanatyam dancers become a flock — moving through rhythm, ritual, friendship and silence.

Artist Statement

Dance Birds explores the silent choreography between body, landscape and memory.

Set within a mist-covered landscape, the series imagines Bharatanatyam dancers as birds: gathering, separating, resting and returning. Their gestures become wings, their formations become a flock, and the landscape becomes a stage where culture and nature meet.

The work is not a documentation of dance. It is a visual story created from observation, imagination and emotion — a poetic space where movement becomes language.

A flock does not move as one body. It moves through trust, rhythm and return.
